Podcast?

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a series of digital media files (either audio or video ) that are released episodically and downloaded through web syndication. The mode of delivery is what differentiates podcasts from other ways of accessing media files over the Internet, such as simple download or streamed webcasts: special client software applications known as podcatchers (like iTunes, Zune, Juice, and Winamp) are used to automatically identify and download new files in the series when they are released by accessing a centrally-maintained web feed that lists all files associated with the series. New files can thus be downloaded automatically by the podcatcher and stored locally on the user's computer or other device for offline use, giving simpler access to episodic content.

The term podcast refers to an ongoing series or episodes of a particular program.A podcaster is the person who creates the content.

The term "Podcasting" was first mentioned by Ben Hammersley in The Guardian It is a portmanteau of the words "Pod" - derived from iPod - and "broadcasting". To avoid a term similar to "iPod", some use the term Netcast instead of Podcast. newspaper in a February 2004 article, along with other proposed names for the new medium.

It has never been necessary, despite the source of the name, to use an iPod or any other form of portable media player to use podcasts; the content can be accessed using any computer capable of playing media files.A backronym has been posited where podcast stands for "Personal On Demand broadCAST"

How to create it?

First Things First

Why is the Radio Guide writing about Podcasting? Because it's very clear to me the Internet coupled with pesonal technology like iPods and MP3 players have empowered everyone with a new voice while redefining what "Radio" is in the 2000s from both a technical and distribution sense. Although I love traditional Radio, I'm also willing to embrace new paradigms. If you're reading this, then apparently you are, too.

A Podcast is:

1. An audio file you create in .mp3 format...
2. Which contains your own radio show or any audio you wish others to have...
3. That you upload along with an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) file to a server
4. That your intended listeners download using one of several programs that have been created to retrieve your audio file automatically...
5. So they can listen to it at their convenience on their own iPod or .mp3 player. (your website for instance)...

That’s it. Now, don’t let things like “RSS file”, “server” or “.mp3 format” scare you.

I’m going to show you exactly how to do all of this in the simplest of terms. By the time we’re done, you’ll be podcasting to the world. Kind of exciting, huh?

Before we get into the mechanics of podcasting, let’s think about just some of the reasons you might want to create your own podcast:

1. You always wanted your own talk show but you don’t own a radio station or work at one.
2. You’re a musician and you want to build up a fan base by providing some of your music to potential fans.
3. You’re a speaker and you want to sell a multi-part audio seminar but don’t want to create CDs, labels, mail them, etc. (Yes, you can use podcasting for profit, too.)
4. You already have a radio show but you want to make certain segments available to the world to increase your reputation and reach.
5. You’re a book author and you want to interest people in buying it by offering a few spoken pages each week to entice them.
6. You’re a school Principal and you want to create your own weekly message to the students.
7. You’re a raving lunatic and you want to rant to the world about conspiracies, UFOs and Men in Black.

Podcasting is for anyone for any reason. It empowers you with a voice that can literally reach around the world.

In order to podcast you will need to learn a few skills in this order:

1. How to record your audio and save it to an .mp3 file.
2. How to create an RSS file which holds the “directions” for sending your file when a user’s program like iPodder requests it
3. How to write the “directions” that are inside the RSS file
4. How to upload the RSS “feed” and your .mp3 file
5. How to validate that the file is written correctly and will send the file correctly.

How do you start to sell?

Today i was talking with some friends at school and we were saying our histories when we were kids.

I would like to say everything came up, when few months ago.. my brother selled "Mumu" my little green bag like frog. When I was little, I loved that teddy bag. So much memories with that special item.Little stores came near my house every sunday, as we already know in Mexico they are called "Rodantes" so I decided to sell stuff I didn't use anymore and make some money. I invited my brother and little sister, so we went to sell our old things. But i didn't noticed he sold Mumu. I was mad at him, he sold it only for $5.oo pesos! that's not the price of my childhood.

______________________________________________________________
Then my friend Miriam said when she was kid, she sold magazines at her friends house.
She always wanted to go to the water park, her parents gaved her enough magazines for sell, like interesting magazines and some others she had to go to the taxi station to sell them. It was funny, just to imagine a little girl selling those "cowboy" magazines where girls are almost naked. So, everyday she visited the taxi station, to sell those magazines to the taxi drivers. Now she says, she didn't know why all the magazines where sold really fast at that place.

And she every sunday was at the water park!! that's her history

My history starts when i was six years old, I was at my first year at school and I had a great idea to get money fast. I started selling the color points, I broke all my points from my colors and started to sell my friends. When a girl came to me and asked me, what can i do with the points, I said her...Hum, when u go home, u make a hole and hide all the points in the garden so no one won't know that.
I just remember, she bought 5 points and the next day she went back to me and said:
Yaz, I put all the points on the garden, I hope no one will never found them.

Two years later, on a birthday i recieved as present $50.oo pesos from an aunt, I decided to buy candies for sell, i made a deal with my brother and we put money to start our business.

With that money we got from our sales, we bought the first Play Station, because our dad wasn't going to buy us an expensive game to be there all the day.

... What did you sell ?

Our hopes always goes to nowhere!

Today, we had another embarrasing soccer match against the u.s why is this happening so often? Is it because Mexican players are not good? Is it because we don't have a good trainer?
Sadly, the answers to these questions have nothing to do with the mexican team performance.

Even soccer experts will agree that the Mexicans players in that national team are of exceptional skills. Some of them play abroad, in Europe teams of high relevance one by one, the Mexican players match or even excel their counterparts in any other national team. Then, what is the Mexican team problem?

Above all, they do not know how to play as a team. Next, they really need to overcome a deep-seated mind complex. They think they are so good, that always mess it up at crucial moments.

Querétaro!

Querétaro!!
I went to Querétaro..well I will explain a little about this beautiful State.
Santiago de Querétaro, is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Querétaro.
I had to be there few days, I just visited there because all the universities (UT) had a national contest. So I decided to support my best friend because was going to participate on Tae kwon do. She won the 2nd place at the national, she is great!

I was the only one of the team that went there..that was not going to participate, sad eh?:(
but I enjoyed anyways!! I was the cheerleader of the team..or that was the teachers and classmates said me... to make me feel better.

At least, I met alot of people from other states, I yelled so much to my team, Helped teachers and not all the trip was "contest", the last few days all the team, went to visit the "Acueducto" really nice place, it is amazing, I visited an important temple its called " Templo de la Santa Cruz" it has an incredible history on that place. The legend says a monk put his walking stick on the garden, and a miracle happened there... all the thorns of a plant had shape like cross, is the unique place in the world that has those thornks with that shape. I almost forgot I visited museums!!

Well, I won't finish to tell here all my adventures in Querétaro... but at least few of them.

History:
I can start saying that Querétaro was founded when Spanish Conquistadors arrived. In 1726 an aqueduct was constructed which furnished the city's water until 1970, just imagine...!!!

In 1847 Querétaro was made capital of the Republic during the United States of America's invasion in the Mexican-American War.

Important things happened in 1867, during the French intervention in Mexico, the city was the last capital of Emperor Maximilian I of the Mexican Empire, and on June 19 Maximilian was executed by a firing squad on the Cerro de las campanas, together with his Generals Miguel Miramón and omás Mejía. Today thats a beautiful place to visit, I didnt had the opportunity to visit the Cerro, but I will go there soon, or atleast I hope so!

Summer Trips*

Summer Trips

I don't have ideas about summer trips, but I think summer is the best time of the year to travel because it is the time when we are off from school. Of course, if you are thinking about traveling is because you can afford it. So the right way to start is with a plan, one that includes saving money from way before we dare to dream about going somewhere during the summer.

Myself, I only think about traveling to another city but not exactly for having vacations but to look for a job, that way I can kill two birds with one stone, and that is just what I did last summer. I traveled to Mexico city to find me a job and I certainly did so I worked but at the same time I had the opportunity to visit some interesting places in that huge city.

Sometimes the weather didn't allow me to do that much, because in case you don't know it raise a lot during the afternoon in Mexico city. This was sort to disappointing because that was the only time I had for wandering around, and learn something new about life in the big city.
I might visit Mexico in other time, but in the summer are less opportunities to visit places. Everywhere I went was full of people, a lot of them so I can travel to more places or at least other cities. I enjoyed my summer trip and I will come Mexico again, next year.

Trends and Fads

Beautiful Forever!

My friends think I'm crazy. My father says I'll never get a job now, and my mother is worried that I won't get married. However, I'm glad I got a tattoo. Last month, I had a beautiful sun design tattooed onto the top of my left arm. It's smallish, neat, and feminine. It won't get lost like jewelry or wear out like clothing. Even when I am old, I will still have my lovely sun. It makes me feel unique and confident. Even I know some people think tattoos are unattractive, but i love the special look of my new symbol.

A Birthday Present

Choosing a birthday present for a friend or family member is fun, but it can be difficult. The present should be personal and has to be thoughtful. For example, the best birthday present I ever got wasn't fancy or expensive. Last year my mother gave me a photograph of my father when he was my age. He is standing with his mother and father (my grandparents) in front of their house, and he looks happy. I think of my father every time I see that photo. It was a perfect birthday present.

2nd Entry Part-time jobs are good for students.

Having a part-time job is a valuable experience for high school students.
They can learn many things that are not usually taught in a classroom.
For example, the can learn how to work with older people.
They also get experience with the business world.
Having a part-time job gives students a sense of independence.
They can also earn money to use for college.
Education is more than just school subjects.
Learning about the real world is also important.

1st Entry *** Learning Responsibility ***

My first job was as a sales clerk in a small clothing shop. It wasn't difficult job, and it wasn't really very a interesting job. Dressing neatly and professionally was an important part of the job. Every weekend i had to open the store at 10:00 a.m. I couldn't be late. I helped customers find clothes, and I kept the store neat and clean. I used the cash register and handled credit cards, so I had to be very careful. These things all taught me responsibility.I learned how to choose and order new clothing. I don't work with clothing anymore, but I still use that skill I learned in my first job.
